The Daily Dose ("we," "us," or "our") operates the newsletter service at https://dailydose.email. We provide a daily AI-curated, personalized newsletter delivered by email. For privacy inquiries, contact us at hello@dailydose.email.
We collect:
• Email address — provided at signup, used to send your newsletter.
• Topic preferences — the interests you select; used solely to personalize your edition.
• Payment information — if you subscribe to Premium, your payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers; Stripe handles all payment data under their own PCI-DSS compliance.
• Usage data — Google Analytics 4 collects anonymized data about how you interact with our website (pages visited, time on site, events like signup completion). This data does not identify you personally.
• IP address — collected incidentally by our hosting provider (Netlify) and email service (Resend) for security and deliverability purposes.
We use your information to:
• Deliver your daily personalized newsletter.
• Process and manage your Premium subscription.
• Send transactional emails (welcome email, payment receipts).
• Analyze aggregate website usage to improve the service.
• Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
We share data with the following providers solely to operate the service:
• Supabase (supabase.com) — subscriber database and backend. Data stored on AWS in the US.
• Resend (resend.com) — email delivery infrastructure.
• Stripe (stripe.com) — payment processing for Premium subscriptions.
• Anthropic (anthropic.com) — AI content curation engine. Article metadata (headlines and snippets from public RSS feeds) is sent to Anthropic's API to generate newsletter copy. No subscriber personal data is sent.
• Google Analytics 4 (google.com/analytics) — anonymized website analytics.
• Netlify (netlify.com) — website hosting and infrastructure.
Each provider is contractually bound to protect your data and may not use it for their own purposes.
By subscribing at dailydose.email, you provide express consent to receive The Daily Dose newsletter and transactional emails from us. This satisfies requirements under:
• CAN-SPAM Act (United States): Every email includes our physical mailing address and a one-click unsubscribe link. We honor unsubscribe requests within 10 business days.
• CASL (Canada): Subscription constitutes express consent under Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation. Every commercial electronic message includes our identification, contact information, and an unsubscribe mechanism.
You may unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email. Unsubscribing removes your email address from our database entirely.
We retain your data for as long as you are subscribed. When you unsubscribe, your email address and topic preferences are permanently deleted from our database. Anonymized analytics data retained by Google Analytics is subject to Google's own retention policies (default 14 months).
Payment records may be retained for up to 7 years to comply with financial and tax regulations, as managed by Stripe.
Depending on your location, you have the right to:
• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data (right to be forgotten).
• Withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing.
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
• Know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, or sell.
• Delete personal information we hold about you.
• Opt out of the sale of personal information. (We do not sell personal information.)
• Non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.

We comply with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). You have the right to access your personal information held by us and to challenge its accuracy. Contact our privacy officer at hello@dailydose.email.
Our website uses Google Analytics 4, which sets cookies to collect anonymized usage data. These cookies do not track you across other websites. You may opt out of Google Analytics tracking by using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
The Daily Dose is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at hello@dailydose.email and we will delete it promptly.
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), restricted database access using service-role keys, and PCI-DSS compliant payment processing via Stripe. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your data is stored and processed in the United States. If you are accessing the service from outside the US, your data will be transferred to and processed in the US, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify subscribers of material changes via email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
